Whack-A-Kass: An evil villain is standing high above, in his floating citadel of death. He is plotting to destroy your land, so what do you do? Make a plushie that looks like him and hit it with a stick of course!
Whack-A-Kass is the most popular sport in Meridell at the moment (for obvious reasons). To play, grab a plank of wood (or something roughly the same shape), wait for the wind to be in your favour, and press the left mouse button to send Kass flying. Hitting Kass over large distances may even unlock bonus levels! Good luck! |

Time again for the requisite pre-blood angst. Here goes.
A wondrous reflection of our society when the all-important APEC is going on: second page of our (only) English paper ponders (very deeply) the subject of hot pants. Is that even worth an entire page? So fucking important, because woolen turtlenecks and fur hats are so appropriate. But okay, let's be objective, it is quite a heavyweight issue after all. But outrightly stupid people like Mathew Tan just makes blood boil (Thanks Janet!). Enlightening all citizens with his 17 years of wisdom, he is quoted as saying girls wear "hot pants" for guys to see, and those with ugly legs.. poor guys, they just have to avert their eyes. Disgusting boy, stop watching porn and PQC-ing to hentai. Go and wash out your fucking heterosexual ears.
Besides, classifying it as hot pants is too much of an exaggeration. Repulsive way to start a Sunday. And such things can be printed.
Oh PMS, drives one to such folly.
On another note, digging out the past is always a dangerous thing to do.
Enough, my friend. Put the lid back on. |

Google Wave!
Unfortunately few friends have it yet, so I'm trying out the public waves to get some use out of this thing. And reading The Complete Guide to Google Wave. And watching the Youtube videos that show the various nifty features, like this short one:
But now, back to exam prep. Sigh. |

I was thinking about My Family and Other Animals again, which one of my profs lent me last semester. Basically it's an autobiographical account of a kid and his wacky family who just up and leave England one day for Corfu, Greece and live there for 4 years.
One day, when I'm 35 (or maybe 40, if I do go to grad school) and married with kids, I want to do the same thing. I want to take a gap year and travel the world, spending a month in 12 cities, or maybe 2 months in 6, or something along those lines. And the kids will... wait. If I raise them in Singapore they can't be homeschooled. And they'll be a year behind. And they might not want to leave their friends behind. And we might all drive each other crazy talking to no one but ourselves for a year.
Guh. Reality is seriously such a pain. |

I am fed up with my current living situation. My flatmate is either never here, or her bf is here 24/7 and I am either alone or being a thirdwheel and made to feel uncomfortable in my own house. They get her room and the whole living room, the latter of which, I returned to from Paris to discover a complete mess. One sofa is filled with all her books, her coats and scarfs are dumped on the armchair and she occupies the entire of the other sofa. The dining room has been plonked in the middle of our tiny living room, making it hard to walk around. She dumps more books/school bags/laptop on that, and as a result I have to eat with my plate on the floor or carrying it around. The house is such a mess it's really difficult to live in it, and I am very tired of having to clean up after her. I have to keep the dishes when they are dry, clean all the grease off the stove (even though she's the only one cooking), pick up the pieces of food that have dropped into the grill (again NOT MINE) because they were starting to burn whenever you switched on the grill. We don't have a tv licence but I have to deal with it, making sure we hide the tv box (I don't even watch the tv) because we're due for an inspection any time now whilst all she cares about is digging it out at night to watch tv and not bothering to keep it. Then there's council tax, trash etc. which I have to make sure gets done. Fucking spoilt PRC wannabes. This is like living with an immature spoilt brat. I am so uncomfortable even in my own house, and I hate my flatmate most of all. Why didn't I make right choices in Year 1 and got to know cool, avant-garde people instead of stupid anime-loving geeks and fucked up one-child-policy kids. |

Paris was a much needed break and getaway from Scotland. No touristy sightseeing, just wandering through the chic and bohemian areas of Paris, trusting the bff Kelly to navigate me through the Parisienne Rues and Fashion - never again will I be led astray by disgusting St Andrean fashion: leggings, short shirts and ugly country style wax coats? NEVER.
I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with my size now having walked a bit of it off, but just so I remember: Hardcore dieting (eating proper nice food, not awful St Andrews food) and gym membership. |

Today's tagline is pufferfish! whee! but when i'm sketching... there is a naggy voice that sounds like mr chia saying that "your mind is only as sharp as your pencil" Only now in this state, i've become a worthy subject to sketch (: my eyes nose and mouth feel smaller today! * it's strange that what dentists say comes true like clockwork! maybe our bodies is more systematic than we think after all.... painting by Shu Jie, titled xiao yan kan shi jie (small eye look world - locomotive) (this is actual translation on the title) yup i feel just like this painting i saw in Beijing... only more puffed up! There is a certain kind of beauty in this painting that i can't seem to put down in words.... |

Oh yes. Just decided that the last time i ever took a photo on my photobooth was like months ago so I decided to take photos of my nails (which i did cos i was bored whilst studying for exams) and my Hand-me-down phone from my parents. I have very sad stories when it comes to my phones. No idea why they always fail on me. This was when people started complaining they can't hear me over my Also-hand-me-down phone Nokia Gold Sirocco (which my dad kiasu-ly found it on his cab. he tried returning it but couldn't find the owner). But anyways, i was complaining one night and then ta-dah! they took out this phone that i TOTALLY FORGOTTEN they have bought it at Westmall's M1 shop like nearly a few months back. They've been keeping it in the cupboard for i-have-no-idea-what-reason. So anyways, finally a *new* phone. Although it's pretty sad that i don't get to choose my new phone, i think one can get used to liking a phone and im really liking the color of my phone now at least. Can't go wrong with maroon on silver. Nails are pretty hardy too. Only like 2 of them had started chipping. Did them like a week ago. I WANNA GET A HAIR CUT DESPERATELY. It's too long and too thick and i wanna get a new color or like, drastic change.
I have one more presentation to go and im done with semester! YAYYY. |

heehee... i remember my first portrait in nygh was totally of no likeness to myself... just some idealized girl with generic long hair... at least there's some improvement now.
now i know how i look like with a square face!
* strange how the desire to idealize disappears as one grows older... |

Today, in history class, we were studying the ancient city states of Ancient Greece. Our teacher (the classic old history teacher) had a rolling chalkboard with a map of greece, and we tried to label them of a reading in our textbook. Our teacher pointed at one unmarked city and asked, "What city is this?" No one answered. After the awkward silence, our teacher yelled "THIS IS SPARTA!" and kicked the chalkboard to the floor. MLIA

I know I should take a good break since I have been working for 6 months straight anyway.. But I feel that I should do some studying too, like reviewing my economics concepts since I'm basically bidding them alone.
So here I am (in the school library) finding my macroeconomics articles and preparing my readings for next semester. (Maybe practice some differential equations too) I am still in the midst of applying various banking internships - happy to have done one numerical test online, but slightly afraid that I didn't perform as well as I've hope. That bank that I have applied for will send their interns to HK, so go figure.
Did I mention I compiled a list of all the internship datelines (of all the foreign banks) in a word document? Quite crazy but true. I can't believe I'm so frigging kiasu.
Je vais aller au Hong Kong pour vacances a la fin de Decembre. Bien sur, je suis tres excite parceque je peux voir tout mes amis encore et prendre beaucoup de photographie. =) |
